Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, will attend a public meeting today (Friday 30 November), at the Dorset Gardens Methodist Church at 5.30pm. The meeting is being held to give local residents and businesses the opportunity to raise their concerns following a series of violent incidents in St James Street and an article by the Argus highlighting safety concerns in the area.
Commissioner attends Rise Living Library
Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, attended The Rise Living Library this week (Thursday 29 November). The event brings together service users and professionals so that members of the public can ask them openly about their lives and experiences.Rise, formerly the Women’s Refuge Project, was founded in 1994 and is an independent, registered charity providing services for women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse, in West Sussex, Brighton & Hove.
SPCC attends NFU West Sussex AGM
Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, attended the National Farmers Union (NFU) West Sussex AGM in Billingshurst this week (Wednesday November 27).The Commissioner listened to West Sussex NFU concerns and responded to questions about metal theft, poaching, burglary, and travellers.
The Sussex Police and Crime Panel met for the first time this week (Monday November 26), and heard from Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, who officially took up her post on Thursday November 22. The Commissioner outlined her vision for the role and took questions from members of the Panel.
Katy Bourne swears in as Sussex PCC
The Chairman of the outgoing Sussex Police Authority has welcomed the election of Katy Bourne as the new Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (SPCC). On 15 November 2012 the people of Sussex elected Katy Bourne to replace Sussex Police Authority to oversee policing and crime in Sussex on their behalf. Following the election the newly elected SPCC will take office on the 22 November, with the last day of the Police Authority being the 21 November.
