Organisations across Sussex are being invited to bid for funding from the county’s Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne. Grants of up to £5,000 are available for groups that provide a positive and lasting impact on the local community in Sussex.
At a ceremony in Brussels on 26 June, the EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc presented the Excellence in Road Safety Awards 2018 to six European organisations for their inspirational and innovative initiatives to improve road safety and save lives on our roads. UNODC encourages all nations to step up its activity to stem the trade in people for exploitation. Sussex Police are at the forefront of this fight and, thanks to funding made available by Katy Bourne the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, they have recently appointed a pan-Sussex Modern Slavery Manager.

The Ministry of Justice has announced a new drive to encourage 50 new Registered Intermediaries (RIs) to sign up across Sussex and the South East to help vulnerable victims and witnesses testify.

The abuse of authority for a sexual purpose is currently seen as one of the biggest corruption threats to policing in England and Wales by the IOPC and HMICFRS. Katy Bourne, Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, will question Chief Constable Giles York on what the key challenges and preventative measures are for Sussex Police in this area.
