Have Your Say in Crowborough
Representatives from the Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) office and members of her Sussex Elders’ Commission (SEC) will be attending the Crowborough Information Roadshow this Saturday (3 October). The Roadshow will be held at the Crowborough Community Centre as part of national Older People’s Day celebrations and visitors are invited to share their thoughts on how safe they feel in their community and the priorities they would like to see the police focus on.
Commenting ahead of the event PCC Katy Bourne said: “My SEC members have been busy talking to over 800 people across Sussex and I’m delighted that we will be attending this wonderful, free, event this weekend and speaking to even more.
“Some of the people that members have met so far have been a victim of a scam themselves and many felt too embarrassed to report the incident to the police. When it comes to reporting other crimes, such as anti-social behaviour, people have told us they “don’t want to bother the police” or that they didn’t think anything could be done to address it.
“That’s why it’s so important that my SEC is able to give people a voice on crime
and capture their feedback so that I can ensure that the Police & Crime Plan for Sussex continues to accurately represent local priorities.”
