Listen Live

The Commissioner's Listen Live programme are summits centred on a different priority from the PCC’s Police and Crime Plan. These take the format of a panel discussions led by an external chair, followed by audience questions. They aim to create a conversation about policing and crime in Sussex, and how the PCC can effectively work with partners to provide solutions.

So far the Commissioner has held two of these summits. The first, focussed around Fraud and Elder Exploitation, was held at the Brighton Jubilee Library on 23 March 2017. Chaired by Danny Pike from BBC Sussex the evening brought together high profile speakers from policing, banking, Trading Standards and Neighbourhood Watch to discuss the issue of fraud and scams which directly target older people. You can watch the evening's debate here and read more about it here

The second summit on 27 September 2017 centred around partnership working. The evening saw more than 100 people attend Sussex Coast College in Hastings to hear about the work being done behind-the-scenes with younger people to tackle anti-social behaviour. You can read more here and watch the evening's debate here.

Planning is currently underway for a third summit in late 2019. Information will be added here once it is fully planed.

Focus groups

Staff in the PCC's office have been holding a series of focus groups around the county on her behalf. These groups aim to speak to people in a diverse range of groups in order to accurately reflect opinions of Sussex Police across the county. This information is then shared with the PCC to inform her decision making and her work alongside Sussex Police. Since November 2018 these focus groups have been held in:

Arundel, Midhurst, Horsham, Crawley, Burgess Hill, Hove, Newhaven, Uckfield, Ticehurst, Eastbourne and Hastings.

If you represent a local community group who would be interested in participating in one of these small discussions please contact Mandy Jameson by emailing mandy.jameson@sussex-pcc.gov.uk.
